Facebook Cash Scavenger Hunt

Object:

To find hidden cash placed on the Fairgrounds through geocaching.  A $67 cash prize will be hidden daily during the 9 days of the Fair. Each day, the first set of coordinates will be announced on Social Media at 10am. If the previous day’s prize has not been found we will re-announce the prior day’s coordinates until the prize is found and roll over the prize money from the previous day to increase the size of the cash prize. The objective of this contest is to expand the MCAC’s social media presence through photo documentation of the event and contest winners.

Equipment needed:

Smart phone with compass app or magnetic compass.

How to play:

Fair patrons will have to locate the hidden cash using a compass with the provided coordinates, which will be posted on Facebook.  Once they have arrived at the first location there will be a laminated sign that has a new set of coordinates to direct them to the second location, then the third location, where the prize is hidden.  Upon arrival at the third and final set of coordinates, there will be a hidden object containing a cash voucher that the Fair patron will need to take to the Fair office to redeem for the cash prize.

A selfie must be taken at each coordinate location with the set of coordinates visible in the photo to prove that the Fair patron made it to all three locations in order to receive the cash prize.

The winning participant, or parent/guardian for those under 18 years of age, must sign a photo release and agree that upon receiving the cash, the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair (MCAC) will have permission to post a photo of the winner on our social media outlets including but not limited to, Facebook, MCAC website, Instagram and others to advertise the contest, that we have a winner, and to encourage participation in the contest throughout the duration of the Fair.

Rules:

This contest is for General Admission Fair patrons who have purchased or have been provided with a complimentary ticket, and is intended to promote the Fair and boost our social media presence in the community. No Fair employee, Board Member, Jr. Board Member, Royalty, Volunteer, Contractor, Life Member, Associate Member, Vendor, Concessionaire, Honorary Member, Exhibitor, Boy Scout Troop 447 member or other person providing services to the MCAC is eligible to win the cash prize.

If a prize is found for a subsequent contest, it will not be awarded.  The cash prize is only awarded for the active contest.  Participants can only win once.
