VERTIGO RED – based in Annapolis – one of Maryland’s premier party rock bands covering more than three decades of chart topping hits from the 80s, the 90s, and today!  Featuring a dual-guitar driven song list, VERTIGO RED delivers a high energy show that boasts both female and male lead vocals.  The band is creating a presence in the local music scene entertaining diverse age groups at nightclubs, wine festivals, corporate events and wedding receptions.

Shag is a band like you've never heard before nor will you forget! British vocal powerhouse and guitarist Laurence Mckenna fronts the band, with an insane vocal range that can flatter any melody. Laurence also performs many solo gigs with a wide variety of covers. Musical mates, Joe King (Lead Guitar-Backing Vocals), Derek Bond (Bass Guitar-Backing Vocals) and Brian Fasani (Drums), complete the feel good vibes that will drive you to the dance floor. Their CD's are a pop-rock recipe of sophisticated yet mad catchy hooks that are at once classic and utterly of the moment. Blurring inspirations of U.K. spun rock, pop and punk, they have developed their own unique style. It is head music for your feet! Shag has performed at such venues as RFK Stadium for D.C. United, The State Theater, 9:30 Club, The Black Cat, Warner Theater, Jiffy Lube Live (Formerly Nissan Pavilion), Gypsy Sally's, The Fillmore, The Old Town Theater, The Fillmore, Jammin' Java, Iota and The Capital Center. Shag performs at major festivals and venues every year. They have supported acts such as: Jackson Brown, Depeche Mode, Train, Green Day, Sting, Creed, Aerosmith, Martina McBride, Toby Keith, Trace Adkins! So to all you sensation seekers...come out and shake your bum!


Larry Brown Quintet

Pianist Larry Brown leads one of the most accomplished straight-ahead jazz groups in the Mid-Atlantic area, having performed at An Die Musik, Blues Alley, the Meyerhoff,  the Kennedy Center, the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival, East Coast Jazz Festival, Baltimore-Washington Jazz Fest, Alexandria Jazz Festival, Martha’s Vineyard Jazz Festival, Twins Jazz, Bohemian Caverns, the King Of France Tavern, Montpelier Arts Center, Chris’ Café, the New Haven Lounge, Caton Castle, Strathmore Mansion, and the Black Rock Center for the Arts.

JazzReview.com describes The Larry Brown Quintet as "Straight-ahead jazz at its best, with a forthright approach to well chosen material, supported by first rate soloists and a rock-solid rhythm section." The group’s four CDs receive airplay all over the country, as well as in Brazil, Canada, Russia, and Japan. The band, which reprises the hard-bop style of the legendary Blue Note era, was recognized by the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA) as the Best Jazz Group for 2009. The group’s celebrated release, “Hard Bop Café” was recognized by WAMA as the Best Jazz Recording for 2006 with a Wammie award. 

As an undergraduate at Towson University, Larry studied with Stan Kenton’s favorite arranger/composer, Hank Levy. He performed with and composed for the lauded Towson University Jazz Ensemble. With a Bachelors Degree in Music Theory Larry attended graduate school at Catholic University, where he received his Master of Music degree after studying Composition and Electronic Music with the legendary Emerson Myers. 

Recognized with Wammie Awards for Best Jazz Group for 2006, 2008, and again for 2009, Larry also received a Wammie for Best Jazz Recording in 2002 for his CD “The Long Goodbye”, recorded at National Public Radio, npr. Larry has appeared on the national jazz cable channel BET On Jazz show “Jazz Discovery” where he won in the instrumentalist category, and has appeared on their show “Jazz Scene” as a featured artist. Larry has also received several Wammie nominations for Best Jazz Instrumentalist, and Best Jazz Recording (“Peace”, “Dryden Street Sessions”).

Washingtonian magazine says, “Larry Brown is a pianist whose rendering of ballads is particularly moving”. The Washington Post calls him “an artist deserving of greater exposure” and says Brown “evokes the master touch”. A post be-bop jazz pianist, Larry lists his major influences as Bill Evans, Wynton Kelly, and Miles Davis. 

The Larry Brown Quintet features Larry Brown on piano, Kent Miller on bass, Greg Holloway on drums, Thad Wilson on trumpet, and Peter Fraize on tenor sax.  Larry records exclusively on Lush Life Records and his recordings are produced by Jerry O’Sullivan.


Al Fresco Jazz Ensemble featuring Julian Hipkins

Julian Hipkins, a DC based vocalist, is the consummate entertainer.  He loves to perform and that's evident from the minute he steps onto the stage.  Whether he's singing a tender ballad or shoutin' the blues, he's always swinging.  For CorktoberFest, Julian will be backed by Al Fresco, a jazz ensemble with years of experience playing in the greater DC area. The group's eclectic repertoire features the Great American Songbook and includes jazz standards, swing, Latin and pop tunes. 

Todd Wright and the HalfKing House Band

Todd Wright is a songwriter/producer whose 25 year career has included fronting his own pop-rock bands along with writing songs for artists around the world. He has written songs recorded by artists including Celine Dion (L’Amour Peut Prendre Froid / Certified Diamond in France) and Avicii label mates Cazzaette (Blind Heart/ #1 Billboard Dance Charts). He’s also placed songs in numerous Film/TV shows including “Bones”, “One Tree Hill”, and “Vampire Diaries.”


The Reagan Years

The Reagan Years recreates the sounds of the 1980s; Five talented musicians with five diverse vocal abilities enables this group to replicate uncanny versions of the Pop, Rock, New Wave and Heavy Metal hits of the M-TV Era.  Bon Jovi , Madonna, Devo, Joan Jett, Def Leppard, Men At Work, Duran Duran, Billy Idol, Journey, Hall & Oates, Modern English, Guns ‘N Roses, A-Ha and ZZ-Top, the band covers all the mega-artists!  You will sing along to every song!  Since 1996, The Reagan Years has been delighting sold out crowds throughout the East Coast and entertaining corporate events as far away as Hawaii and foreign countries such as Spain, Germany and Panama.  This band pioneered the 80's multi-band tribute concept and like any great idea, many have imitated it however none have replicated the magic of The Reagan Years.

Vocalist and bandleader Karen Lovejoy fronts this engaging ensemble. These east coast residents, Maryland and Virginia based, have been thrilling audiences since the late 90s with lively and imaginative renditions of both traditional classics, as well as, new and original music.

The Lovejoy Group is a collective of musicians specializing in all types of jazz, swing, Latin rhythms, New Orleans, Motown hits and just all around good music!
